The type of music I listen to is heavy metal. I love the guitar in heavy metal because there is a lot of it, and it is played at a fast and heavy pace. In my opinion the thing that makes music suck is if it doesn’t sound good. For example, if the rhythm of your guitar doesn’t resemble the rhythm of your bass, drums, or vocals, it will sound off beat and off tune. Also, I feel that music that doesn’t make any sense sucks. Does genre matter? I believe genre does matter because it helps in organizing music. For me it is a lot easier to say which genre of music I like rather than name a whole bunch of bands until the other person gets a feel for what I like. There isn’t a genre out there that I believe shouldn’t be respected. Every genre of music is appreciated by someone, and I don’t like it when someone harps on me because of what I listen to which is why I don’t harp on others for what they listen to.
