Integrity

Integrity is when you tell someone your doing something then turn around and do something else. How I live an honest life is by telling the truth and not telling lies. I kind of have integrity because I tell someone I’m not going to do something, but I do it anyway when no one is looking.

I really don’t know anyone who doesn’t have integrity. About everyone I know does. Like my family does and my friends do too. I know people who have lived an honest life and I don’t know who hasn’t. Sometimes I lie and so does my friends and family.

If you want to live and honest life then you should be truthful and do not tell lies. When you tell lies then you don’t feel right, and all you want to do is feel terrible. But when you tell the truth then you don’t have to feel that way.

Sometimes my family tells me that there’s going to do something that they end up not doing it. And my cousin does things when no one is watching, and he gets in trouble for it.

Integrity

Today my journal is about how I myself am trying to develop a better life by working on my integrity and living an honest life with everyone I meet. What is the first thing that comes to your head when you hear about people trying to straighten their lives out? When I hear it I think about my own life and how I am trying to get it all better. The first way that I am trying to do that is by going back to everyone that I hurt in the first place and see how can I fix everything that happened. But it’s not easy I have learned that the hard way. But the thing I have realized with my own life is that I haven’t exactly been the most honest person ever. The way that I am trying to fix that is by watching what I say to people before I say anything.

So far it has worked with my program, it actually is working very well with them. But if there were one person that I could fix anything with it would be my dad. The reason why it’s my dad is because the last time I ever talked to him we had a big fight and I told him that I never wanted to talk to him again. So when you go on living your life just think of what you say to people and how you represent yourself.

Changes

People change all the time, sometimes it’s for the better and sometimes it’s for the worse. Usually when someone changes for the better it’s because someone or he or she themselves inspired him or her to do better in life. They change because they want to make themselves better. Its best if you are going to change that you do it for yourself not someone else. If you do change for someone when that person leaves your life then you are back to where you were before you changed. You have to do it for yourself.

Usually when people change for the worse it is because they have something go wrong in life and they will get into drugs or they will hurt or kill somebody or themselves. That’s an example of changing for the worse. Personally I think if you have something go wrong in life, as long as it doesn’t kill you its only making you stronger. If you have something go wrong in life it should make you change for the better not for the worse. It should make you wake up and realize what you need to do so that you can handle the stuff that goes wrong in your life.

Changes

Changes

In my opinion I think that everyone has to change. Not every body is perfect, and people at least need to change one thing about them.

People think that it is hard to change, and I agree. It is hard to change. I think that people need to really want to change to be able to. There are steps to changing. I don’t know all of them, but I know the first one. The first one is making the decision to change. Everything, along with changing, will take time. Even though we usually don’t like to wait long, but hopefully it will be worth it in the end.

In the book, Breathing Under Water, the main character is a good example of changing. He has issues with anger, and he is trying to change. So, he doesn’t end up like his father. He can do it, if he truly wants to. Yes, it will be hard for him but he will be able to do it.

Violence

Violence!

I think that violence should only be used for self-defense or when your life and/or somebody else’s life is in some kind of danger. There may be other times when you may want to fight and yet it would not be the best idea. I think that violence should be a last resort and should not be used if it can be helped. I have wanted to get violent with several different times that would hurt me because of the situation that I have put myself in, and so I do nothing about the issues that go on, until I blow up. Being violent is how I used to be able to handle ways back when I was at my house, and I use to get into fights over small things and it hurt myself and others relationships. It is not ever really good to fight especially if it is going to hurt yourself or others.

My Story

When I was born I wasn’t planned. I was a mistake. My father says I’m the best
Mistake he has ever made. I wish my mom would’ve felt the same. Drugs were more important than my dad and me. She left my dad and me when I was eight months old. Up until this point in my life I’ve met my mom five times and every time she’ll Tell me that she’s trying to be clean and sober for me. And I’ll wake up with something of mine or my dads missing.

It’s been ok just my dad and me living together. Even though he had to play the dad and mom role in my life. It hurt him more than it hurt me each year when
Mothers Day would come around.

Everything was fine in my life until I turned twelve. That’s when everything changed. My dad started doing drugs and hanging out with the wrong friends.
Soon enough I was doing everything around the house.
I still remember the night everything started to fall apart. My dad had some friends over and had to go to the store. They said he could use their car to go.
Next thing I know I had cops knocking on the door. Turns out my dad’s friends stole the car and had it loaded with drugs. They told me they would have a caseworker coming with more cops. I called my friends mom to see if I could stay there while my dad was in jail. Lucky for me I have good friends with nice parents.

My dad got out two months later, and it all happened again. He started selling and doing drugs. Even hanging out with the same friends that got him put in jail.
This is when I started hanging out with the wrong crowd. Soon enough I was doing drugs, drinking, and I even started cutting myself. I broke curfew one night and got taken to youth services. They called my dad, but said he sounded
Intoxicated. So they put me in states custody. I’ve been in foster care for four years now. I’ve been in five different foster homes, and four different treatment centers.

I’ve been doing better on everything since then. I’m even in honors classes and I’ve been clean and sober for over a year. I’m going to do something with my life. I won’t stop at anything until I succeed.

Drug Problems

Are kids drug problems the parents fault?

I think that on some cases it is the parents fault, but inevitably it is the kids fault because he has a choice to do what he or she wants. If the parents have been heavy drug addicts the kids whole life. Then I can see why the kid gets into drugs, but if their parents actually had a problem and needed to take prescription drugs then that’s not their fault. A kid that is thirteen is plenty old enough to know right from wrong and good from bad so its his fault.

Also know I don’t think that the schools can eliminate the drug problem that they have. I think that no matter what they do that the kids are going to get high and sell drugs you cant possibly make everyone stop its impossible but its also not the schools fault they can do what they want but kids will be kids that get high all the time.
