Dear teachers

Is giving an hour of homework at night good or bad? If you think about it, giving an hour of homework can be good for some students because it can make it so that they have something to do at home. If they don’t have any friends or if they just want to get ahead in school, by doing extra work for a certain class or for all their classes then that way they can graduate early.

Personally I don’t think that teachers should give an hour of homework unless of course the kids don’t pay attention. Then the teacher can give an hour of homework. For instance one of the cons to having and hour of homework is that it takes up to much time at home. Some people have friends and if they are doing homework then they can’t go and hang out with their friends. Some people might have work and they wouldn’t be able to concentrate on work they will always be concentrating on their homework and they can get fired that way.

Another reason why I don’t think teachers should give an hour of homework is because all those papers take up to much space and a lot of kids will lose some of the papers either on their way home, somewhere at home, or on their way to school. So that is my second reason why I think that teachers shouldn’t give an hour of homework.

The third reason why I think that teachers shouldn’t give an hour of homework is because it can cause a big mess and there are a lot of kids that will loose their papers that way or their papers get spots on them and then they will have to redo all the work and then they will complain about it.

So teachers if you think about it giving an hour of homework can good and it can be bad. Some kids like the extra work and some kids don’t. It all depends on what kind of person you are. Personally I’m the kind of person that doesn’t like to have an hour of homework at night. So Again I think that teachers shouldn’t give an hour of homework unless the kids aren’t listening.

I agree. But also, if every teacher gave an hour of homework each day, that would add up to about 4-8 hours of homework, depending on how many classes you have. So, that would dig way deep into our schedules, and would severely interfere with our lives.
