Haikus
Avalanche.
Mountains crashing down
Roaring through the forest night
Calmness covers trees
Hunt.
Guns blazing hot lead
Birds falling out of sky blue
Dogs running smelling.
Tapout.
Back up to the wall
Move in, kick, punch, punch, knee, back
Move in, punch, knee, out.
LIMERICKS
There once was a young man
Everyone thought he was so tan
He always rode a bike
Though it was not a trike
No one was a fan so he ran.
My views on poetry have changed a lot. I used to think poetry was boring and pointless. Now that I have actually looked at it and paid attention to it I have realized that it’s a great thing and that everyone should read or write poetry. I believe that we should write poetry because it is a way of telling people who we are and what we are all about. It helps us express our feelings and we can learn a lot about each other through poetry. When I write poems I express emotion and it helps me a lot. It can help me have a better day; it feels as if a weight has been lifted off of my shoulders. There are also those poems that make us sad or unhappy, but if we are writing these poems it can still help us because again it is expressing our emotions and it really does help a lot. People say they don’t like poetry, but I think if they were to really look at it and pay attention to it they would love it like I do.
